At Souris Valley Animal Shelter, every animal’s life is valued. From fragile kittens to senior dogs, every animal is family. We provide safety, love, and belonging, helping animals rediscover hope. SVAS leads in neonatal care and enrichment, keeping animals healthy and engaged. In 2021, we opened a $3.5M shelter with North Dakota’s first indoor dog park and free-roam cat rooms. This year (2025), we opened the Severson Ahart Community Clinic. So far, we've provided around $150,000 in veterinary care to shelter animals. We also acquired the City of Minot pound contract in January. We don’t just save lives, we honor them. Our animals are not just shelter pets. They are family.
